May 2, 2022 | Press Releases

The Cardiometabolic Center Alliance (CMCA), founded by Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, is honored to announce the addition of TriHealth as a Charter Member.

As a coalition that seeks to establish Cardiometabolic Centers of Excellence nationwide aimed at transforming the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2D), and related cardiovascular (CV) and renal comorbidities, the CMCA considers TriHealth, the Cincinnati region’s nationally recognized integrated health system made up of six hospital and more than 140 sites of care, a key member of the Alliance.

“Cardiometabolic disease is one of the leading public health threats impacting both patient and clinicians today,” said Mikhail Kosiborod, MD, Executive Director of the Cardiometabolic Center Alliance. “We are excited to welcome TriHealth as a Charter member of CMCA as we work together to transform the quality of care and improve outcomes for our patients.”

“Cardiometabolic diseases are the number one cause of death in the world. And as the Cincinnati region’s leading heart and vascular team, TriHealth is committed to delivering optimal outcomes for our patients by offering Cincinnati’s widest range of cardiac procedures,” said Dr. Kamal Shemisa, cardiologist with the TriHealth Heart Institute. “By joining the CMCA, we stand dedicated to collaborating with and learning from our fellow members so we can all enhance the care we provide.”
